February 1-7 RoadsideFans in Review

Deli Talk:

Katz's and Yonah Schimmel's are on Houston St., about 42 blocks
south of 42nd St. and a few
blocks east. The Carnegie Deli and the Stage are much closer.
I had good luck, as there is *one* Jewish deli-restaurant left in
Newark. It's called Hobby's

This was all based on the talk of the Lincoln Highway in New Jersey.
The Route of which was given in post #5140

Soft Drinks:

There was much talk about Soda, Pop, Soda Pop, Coke, Tonic etc...
And what it is called in different parts of the country. This moved
to Regional Brands of Soda.

Jimmies versus Sprinkles - People in the east seem to say Jimmies go
on ice cream and Sprinkles on cookies.

Brian Butko talked about a Lincoln Highway Companion #5173

The venerable Texas Hots in Wellsville, NY was closing! But just for
a few weeks.

Road Trip Books: Message #5183 talked about Texas trips. A link is
in the link section for the Newspaper Articles, Archived.
