O'Rourke's Diner Slowly Coming Back To Life

http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-middiner0612.artjun12,0,7977142.story?collhc-headlines-local

-------------------------

It's not really a diner (although many news reports call it that) but Holsten's, the classic ice cream parlor in Bloomfield, New Jersey, is seeing an increase in business.
Roadside Diner Lady alerted us to this place last May in Message 5611. In case you've been asleep the past week, Holsten's is the place where the final scene in "The Sopranos" was filmed.

-------------------------

It's named Silk City Diner, and yes, it is an actual Silk City Diner manufactured by Paterson Vehicle Company. But it's more nightclub than diner in its operation, although it "offers American fare and cheap beers." And in a nod to diner tradition, it's planning to open for breakfast and lunch on the
weekends.

Here's the link for Berta's website (including a link to his wife's site), which has an interesting history of how he ended up owning so many diners: http://www.jerryberta.com/
